An Explorer Scout from Rhondda Cynon Taf, who saved a young man about to take his own life, was among the winners at this year’s St David Awards, which recognise people who have done extraordinary things.

First Minister Vaughan Gething has announced his Ministerial team for a Wales full of optimism, ambition and unity. 

[1^st March]: To mark St David’s Day, the celebration of Wales’s patron saint, the Welsh Government has launched ‘Wales in India’, to strengthen ties and opportunities between the two countries.

First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced the finalists of this year’s St David Awards at an event at the Senedd.

First Minister Mark Drakeford is set to renew Wales’ longstanding relationship with the Silesia region of Poland.

In his message the First Minister says: 

Mark Drakeford has today announced Kai Lloyd as the winner of the annual First Minister’s Christmas card competition.

15 million free school meals have been served in primary schools across Wales as part of the Co-operation Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru.

• £40m investment will help refurbish the 150-year-old Holyhead Breakwater, which is gradually being eroded by the Irish Sea.
• The superstructure – the longest in the UK - provides essential protection to the Port of Holyhead which protects the infrastructure and allows ships to dock safely.

First Minister Mark Drakeford has today signed the new Corporate Parenting Charter, committing the Welsh Government to nine promises when working with care-experienced children and young people.

The First Minister is today encouraging people to nominate their everyday hero for the annual St David Awards.
