A spokesperson for the Welsh Government said: “We are very grateful to the Hinkley Point C Stakeholder reference group – the members have given their time and expertise to undertake this vital work.
“Decisions made in one part of the UK can impact wildlife and communities in other parts of the country – with this in mind, the First Minister asked the group to provide an independent assessment of the impact of the Hinkley Point C development.
“The legal framework to make the right environmental choices is already in place through the Well-being of Future Generations Act and the Environment (Wales) Act 2016.
“We all have a role to play in ensuring the resilience of the Severn Estuary and any action taken to that end will be based on consideration of the findings and comments outlined within this report.”
