The Minister also announced that pharmacies can open an hour later and close an  hour earlier. They can also close for two hours in the middle of the day, if necessary to give pharmacy staff the protection they need to fulfil the medicines supply role and to protect their own health and wellbeing. 

He asked community pharmacies to remain flexible during these times so they can respond to the needs of their most vulnerable customers, especially those in high-risk groups.
