Julie James-2

COP27: Minister for Climate Change Julie James will tell world leaders there is “no time to rest” as the UN Conference on Climate Change begins in Egypt.

COP27: Bydd y Gweinidog Newid Hinsawdd Julie James yn dweud wrth arweinwyr y byd “does amser i orffwys”, wrth i Gynhadledd y Cenhedloedd Unedig ar y Newid yn yr Hinsawdd ddechrau yn yr Aifft.

A year on from COP26 in Glasgow and a year after the Welsh Government published its Net Zero plan, a wide range of climate policies have been introduced in Wales, such as the plans for a renewable public energy developer to provide long-term energy security which sees profits reinvested to benefit the people of Wales.

Speaking at a Welsh Government press conference, the Minister will say responding to the climate change emergency can bring many benefits, including healthier communities and new job opportunities.

The Minister is also expected to congratulate the Football Association Wales for its sustainability strategy which launches tomorrow [7 November] as she calls for a team Wales approach to tackling climate change.
